Boeing Employees Credit Union was originally established to serve employees of The Boeing Company. BECU was founded in 1935 as Fellowship Credit Union by 18 Boeing employees. It was named Boeing Employees Credit Union for much as of its history.

Based in Tukwila, Washington, BECU has more than $8 billion in total assets and over 600,000 members. This has made it the largest credit union in the Washington state and one of the top five in the US. Gary Oakland is the present President and CEO.

BECU has over 40 Neighborhood Financial Centers in the Puget Sound area. Anyone who lives, works, owns a business, attends school or worships in Washington is eligible to join BECU, as are past and current employees of The Boeing Company, its subsidiaries or affiliates, BECU itself and the Museum of Flight. Additionally, all related by marriage, descent, adoption, or domestic partnership to a person meeting any of the above criteria is eligible.

BECU Involvement And Governance – BECU will work to preserve the credit union democratic principles, demographic representation, and volunteer participation in the credit union activities.
